Cecilia Chung
Cecilia Chung is a civil rights leader for LGBT rights. Born in Hong Kong, she then moved to LA, and then San Francisco with her family. Deciding to transition in 1992, she ended up working as a sex worker, and lived on her own for a while.
She founded San Francisco Transgender Advocacy and Mentorship (SF TEAM), and she is the first transgender woman and first Asian person to be elected to lead the Board of Directors of the SF Pride celebration. She is one of the founding members of the SF Trans March.
She was also appointed by President Obama to the presidential advisory Council on HIV/AIDS. Currently, she is the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives and Evaluation at the Transgender Law Center.
